Dr. G at Healthspan Neurology was the first doctor to get the answers I was looking for after others had missed it — I can’t overstate how life-changing that was for me. Dr. Ashanthi Gajaweera is a board-certified neurologist with 25 years of clinical experience and one of few neurologists in the country to hold the Menopause Society Certified Practitioner credential. Her clinical framework is built on the understanding that brain health is downstream of whole body health. She helps patients understand their individual risk and take evidence-informed action on it — particularly those in their 40s to 60s with a family history or other risk factors who want to be proactive. This window, long before symptoms become evident, is when we need to get to work.

Why Choose Healthspan Neurology

  • You shouldn't have to wait months for answers.

  • Every evaluation is conducted by Dr. Gajaweera — not a nurse practitioner or physician assistant. You receive expert neurologic assessment from a physician with over 25 years of clinical experience.

  • Follow-ups are 60 to 90 minutes, depending on what you need. We don't watch the clock — we stay until the work is done.

  • Our services are direct-pay, with transparent pricing. Many patients use HSA or FSA funds, and we provide documentation to support out-of-network reimbursement from your insurer.

  • Most testing such as labs and imaging are covered by your insurance just as they would be with any insurance participating provider.

What Are Patients Are Saying

  • "I am partway through Dr. Gajaweera's dementia prevention program and enthusiastically recommend her to anyone concerned about warding off dementia. What makes the program so valuable is that dementia isn't just a neurological issue — it's tied to everything going on in your body. The result is a detailed, highly personalized action plan. I can't imagine finding another doctor who is simultaneously so knowledgeable, so attentive, and so communicative."

    Patient, Dementia Preventive Program

  • "Dr. Gajaweera has changed my life. I have two siblings with Alzheimer's and my stress level was through the roof. Dr. G has taught me that knowledge is power. She has guided me through testing and recommended targeted adjustments to my daily routine. I now have a plan for how to proactively approach this chapter of my life. Dr. G is a great communicator with a gentle, kind soul."

    Patient, Dementia Preventive Program

  • "From what I read about Alzheimer's, I realized that with a family history it's important to be evaluated early and followed by a neurologist — when prevention is still possible. Dr. Gajaweera is very careful to explain the need for the service she provides. She is highly professional, caring, and knowledgeable. I would encourage anyone with a family history to schedule the free consultation with her."

  • "I have been trying to see a neurologist for at least a year. I finally found Dr. Gajaweera — and I feel like the right person was waiting to help me.
